The PAN Network's Electronic Booking System is a subset of PAN's Electronic Availability (e-VailTM) System. It is designed to network venues together into "blocks" that can then bid for quality touring acts at a discount to their usual per-night booking rates.
Whenever a venue makes a bid on an act, they can submit it on an "as-is as-available" basis, or they can submit it as a "group bid".When a "group bid" or "group request" is made, a carbon copy of the request is also sent to all venues in the particpating block to inform them of the inquiry, and to verify that they have a date open and enough funding to particpate in the bid. When enough venues agree to meet the act's posted (or negotiated) group-rate, the block is set and booked.
Only venues can make group-requests for block bookings. However, acts can send requests for venue availabilities when preparing tour-routings or to fill sudden cancellations while on the road. Venues always have the option of not being notified of avail requests made by acts or agencies, and only be notified of avail requests made by other venues.
Venues also have the option to particpate in the system on a "lone-wolf" basis, independent of any block.
What it does NOT do:
To prevent SPAM and scams, PAN's e-Vail System does not make its listings publicly available. It is not meant to be a directory or yellow-page service. It is not an advertising or promotional vehicle. It is a real-time down-to-business tool for touring acts and venues who don't have time to screw around.
Ok... What Next
Everyone in the system must first register by filling out a questionnaire. Once you are verified and your password is activated, you can then enter the main menu of The Electronic Booking System to bids on tours (if you are a venue) or to submit your tour for consideration (if you are an act).
